Hip Pain: Common Treated Conditions

The hip joint is a crucial ball and socket joint, and it holds the distinction of being the largest joint in our body. Its unique structure allows for smooth motion and facilitates blood and fluid circulation.

During activities such as walking or running, a protective layer of cartilage prevents friction between the hip bone and its socket, ensuring seamless movement.

However, over time and with usage, the cartilage can deteriorate or sustain damage. Additionally, the muscles and tendons surrounding the hip may become overused, and the hip bones can fracture due to falls or injuries. Any of these conditions can result in hip pain.

Several common disorders associated with hip pain include hip bursitis, arthritis (such as osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis), and inflammation. Symptoms typically manifest as pain, reduced range of motion, stiffness, and swelling.

Fortunately, there are various tools and techniques available for addressing hip pain. In my practice, I prefer using a combination of acupuncture and manual therapy, as it has proven to yield more effective and faster recovery outcomes.

By combining these therapeutic modalities, we can provide comprehensive care and optimize your recovery from hip pain. The personalized treatment plan will be tailored to your specific needs and may include additional interventions such as exercise prescription and lifestyle modifications.

Our goal is to address the root causes of your hip pain, reduce discomfort, restore mobility, and improve your overall quality of life.
